Bob Payne launched The Seattle Times’ local news partnership program in 2009 with help from J-Lab. The program now includes more than 50 Seattle-area news websites. These sites range from topic sites, such as blogs about beer and hiking, to neighborhood news sites such as the West Seattle Blog. The Times and the partner sites share news tips, swap photos and promote each other’s stories.
Payne also helps guide The Seattle Times’ staff blogs, and its reader engagement and social media efforts — all of which revolve around his goal to build communities around Seattle Times content.
