Specialises in international, appellate and complex media, IP, privacy and FOI litigation. Mark is often asked to undertake some of the highest profile constitutional free speech litigation. Over the last year he has won 5 cases in the European Court of Human Rights, and has litigated in the Supreme Court and the European Court of Justice as well as throughout the Commonwealth.
Mark is also extremely active in many other areas having been appointed by the British Foreign Secretary to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Free Expression advisory board and he has also advised the Jamaican and Mauritian Governments on media law reform. He is the incoming Chairman of the Commonwealth Lawyers Association. In June last year he was made a Commander of the British Empire by Her Majesty the Queen for his services to law and the arts.
